Welcome to GIT-IQAC!

 

​​​​​​​​​Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) was established in the year 2024 to promote quality enhancement in all aspects of academics and administration of the college. IQAC develops and channelize the efforts and measures of the institution towards academic excellence. It also develops a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the performance of the institution.

 

The IQAC meets periodically to review the progress of the college and its quality enhancement based on the benchmarks fixed by IQAC as well as the criteria suggested by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for technical programmes and suggests actions for further strengthening and sustaining the quality. The quality of the academic programmes are ensured through constant monitoring.

 

Duties and Responsibilities of IQAC

​

  • Development of quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution and carry out the gap analysis;

  • Facilitating a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education;

  • Organizing faculty development programmes to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process;

  • Carrying out periodic check of course outcome attainment and action taken from each faculty and its mapping on to POs, PEOs;

  • Monitor the action taken by departments on feedback response from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes;

  • Dissemination of information on various quality parameters of higher education;

  • Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes;

  • Documentation of the various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement;

  • Acting as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices;

  • Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining /enhancing the institutional quality;

  • Development of Quality Culture in the institution;

  • Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR);

  • Conducting Annual Academic and Administrative Audit (AAA).

IQAC adopts the following mechanisms / processes for internal quality checks.

 

  • Evaluating faculty based on Faculty Performance Appraisal and Development System (FPADS) and recommend for Performance Incentives;

  • Fixing the Quality Benchmarks for departments and monitoring its progress;

  • Collecting and evaluating Programme Exit Survey from final semester students of various academic programmes to evaluate the impact and usefulness and to take appropriate corrective measures, wherever necessary;

  • Evaluation of teachers by students at the end of every semester through Course End Survey and its analysis;

  • Organizing workshops on Quality Assurance and Management at regular intervals to sensitize the faculty on these issues;

  • NBA Accreditation and related documentation work.
